Bookings, waitlist and a floor plan that matches your room

Draw your room once, then manage the day's bookings and walk-ins against the same tables.

Updated

The Reservations screen with the day's bookings by time, covers and seated counts, and a waitlist with Seat buttons

What you get

  • A floor plan editor

Draw zones, round, square, long and booth tables, walls and fixtures, with snapping, rotate, undo and redo and three starter templates.

  • Bookings and waitlist

See the day's bookings by time with covers and seated counts, add a booking, and seat or notify guests from the waitlist.

  • Smarter availability

Turn time by party size, table combinations and a covers limit per slot decide which bookings the system accepts.

  • A live room for waiters

The waiter app shows the same room with live table states, so seating and service stay in step.

  • Table codes follow

Each table you draw can carry a QR code for table ordering.

What it does

Reservations and the floor plan live in the same place because they depend on each other: a booking is only useful if the table it needs is free. In the Manager, the Bookings tab shows the day as a timeline with the number of bookings, covers and guests already seated. A waitlist sits beside it for walk-ins, with a Seat button for each party.

How it works

  1. Open Settings, then Floor plan, and draw your room: zones, tables with their seats, walls and fixtures. Start from a template or use Add 10 tables.
  2. Open Bookings and add a booking with the time, party size and name.
  3. The availability engine checks the table, the turn time for that party size, table combinations and the covers limit for the slot.
  4. On the day, seat the booking, or add walk-ins to the waitlist and notify them when a table is ready.
  5. The waiter app shows the room live, so service staff see which tables are seated, ordered or waiting for the bill.

The floor plan editor

The editor has the tools of a drawing program without the complexity: snap and alignment guides, rotate and resize, multi-select, undo and redo. Tables can be round, square, long or booth shaped. Zones such as the main room, booths and the terrace become tabs in the waiter app.

What it does not do yet

Guests cannot book a table themselves on your website. Bookings come from your team taking a call or a message and entering it. If online booking matters most to you, plan to keep a booking service alongside DineHarbor.

What it replaces

It replaces a paper diary, a whiteboard of tables and a sketch of the room on the wall. See the waiter handheld for service and QR table ordering for guests who order from the table.

Questions and answers

Can guests book online themselves?

Not yet. Bookings and the waitlist are entered by your team in the Manager. A public online booking page is not part of DineHarbor today.

Can I merge tables for a big party?

Yes. The availability engine understands table combinations as well as turn time by party size.

Does it show which tables are free right now?

Yes. The floor shows each table as free, seated, ordered, waiting, ready, on the bill, cleaning or blocked.

Do I need to draw the floor plan?

It helps. You can start from a template or use Add 10 tables, then adjust.
