What a dark kitchen needs

A kitchen with no dining room lives on delivery. Three issues matter.

Orders from one place that you own. If every order comes through a marketplace, the marketplace owns the customer and takes a cut.

A kitchen that never loses an order. With no counter to catch a mistake, the ticket on the screen is the order.

Delivery that pays. Fees, zones and drivers decide the margin.

The five features that matter

  1. Online ordering, with no commission.
  2. The kitchen display, with printer failover.
  3. The driver app, for your own drivers.
  4. Delivery zones and dispatch, with road distance.
  5. Reports, with prep times by hour and channel.

A day in the life

Picture a delivery kitchen on a weeknight. Orders arrive from the website, each with a fee that was worked out from the road distance. The screen shows tickets with timers. The dispatch board shows jobs waiting for a driver, and a driver takes a run with two stops. A guest follows the order on a map. At the end of the night the owner checks prep time by hour in reports. This is a description of how the product works, and not a customer story.

What is not built yet

Several brands in one kitchen can be set up as several locations, each with its own menu and ordering site, but a shared kitchen queue across locations has not been built. The kitchen screen is per location.

Pricing

Starter is £69 per location a month and Growth £129 adds the driver app and dispatch board. Prices are excluding VAT, as of October 2026. See the pricing page for current figures. The first 30 days are free, with no card needed.

Questions and answers

Can I run several brands from one kitchen?

Each location has its own menu and ordering site, so a brand can be a location. A single kitchen queue shared across locations has not been built, so check this against your setup before you commit.

Does it connect to delivery apps?

No. DineHarbor does not connect to Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat. It works with your own site and your own drivers.

Do I need a till?

Not necessarily. You can use the Manager and the kitchen screen, and add a till if you take phone orders.

Which plan do I need for drivers?

Growth or Unlimited, which include the driver app and dispatch board.
