What it does
The driver app is for restaurants that deliver with their own staff. A driver signs in, sees the deliveries assigned to them, opens the address and completes each one in the app. Behind it, the dispatch board shows you every job, who has it and when it was promised.
How it works
- A guest orders delivery on your website, inside your delivery zones.
- The order reaches the kitchen, and the delivery job is given to a driver.
- The driver sees the job on their phone and sets off. The guest's tracking page now shows the order as out for delivery, with the driver on a map.
- The driver completes the delivery in the app. Proof of delivery is recorded against the job, and the guest gets an email with an arrival estimate while it is out.
Location, handled carefully
The app asks for location only after it has told the driver why. Position is shared while a delivery is out, and the guest sees it rounded to about 50 metres. On Android the trail keeps recording with the screen locked, so a route is not lost when the phone sleeps.
Plans
The driver app and dispatch board belong to Growth and above, with up to 10 drivers per location on Growth and no limit on Unlimited. Delivering with your own staff, with your own zones and fees, works on every plan.
What it replaces
It replaces calling drivers to ask where they are, and a marketplace that sends its own couriers while charging a share of the order. If you would rather use no driver app at all, you can offer collection only.

Questions and answers
Which plans include the driver app?
Growth, which allows up to 10 drivers per location, and Unlimited. Starter can still deliver with its own staff, but without the driver app and dispatch board.
Does it use a delivery marketplace?
No. These are your own drivers and your own customers. DineHarbor does not connect to Deliveroo, Uber Eats or Just Eat.
When is a driver's location shared?
Only while a delivery is out. The guest sees it rounded to about 50 metres.
Does it work with the phone locked?
The Android app keeps recording the trail while the screen is locked, so a route is not lost when the phone sleeps.
