Delivery

Deliver where it pays, and see every run on one board

Delivery zones by road distance and drive time, honest fees at checkout and a dispatch board with a map.

Updated

The dispatch board with a map of delivery jobs and a list of jobs showing unassigned and en route deliveries with promised times

What you get

  • Road distance, not a straight line

Delivery is judged on the distance by road. If it cannot be measured, the address is refused and the guest is offered collection.

  • Fees and zones

Combine distance bands, drive time zones and free delivery in one settings screen, and see the zones on a map.

  • A dispatch board

See unassigned and en route jobs, who has each, and the time promised, on a board with a live map.

  • Fee shown first

The guest sees the delivery fee for their address before they pay.

  • Explained assignments

When a job is assigned automatically, a log records why.

What it does

Delivery only works if the fee and the area are right. In DineHarbor you set both in one screen: distance bands with their prices, drive time zones, free delivery above a basket value, and a map that shows your reach and your zones. Then every delivery order is checked against them at checkout.

How it works

  1. Open the Manager, then Settings, then Delivery, and enter your address.
  2. Add distance bands, or draw zones by drive time such as 20 minutes, and set a fee for each.
  3. Add a free delivery threshold if you want one.
  4. A guest enters their address at checkout, with suggestions as they type, and sees the fee for it before paying.
  5. Orders appear on the dispatch board, where you assign a driver and watch the run.

Honest about distance

Delivery is decided on the distance by road. If no routing service can measure it, DineHarbor refuses the address and offers collection or your phone number, rather than guessing a fee. Distances you have already measured are remembered for 30 days, so a brief outage does not affect regular customers. A genuinely unreachable address gets its own clear message.

The dispatch board

The board lists every job with its status, such as unassigned or en route, who has it and the promised time, beside a map of the jobs and your drivers. It also has Drivers and Performance views. Each job can be managed in place. Assignments made automatically leave a log that explains the choice.

What it replaces

It replaces a delivery radius drawn on a printed map, fees worked out on the phone, and a whiteboard of who has which run. Pair it with the driver app for your own drivers.

Questions and answers

How is the delivery distance measured?

By road, using a routing service. A straight line is never used to accept an address.

What if the lookup is down?

The address is refused with a clear message and the guest is offered collection or your phone number, instead of guessing a fee.

Can I offer free delivery above an amount?

Yes. Free delivery thresholds are part of the delivery settings.

Which plans include the dispatch board?

The dispatch board and driver app are part of Growth and above. Delivery zones and fees work on every plan.
