A drive-through lane that takes orders by voice

A lane screen that greets each car, takes the order in the guest's language and sends it to the kitchen.

What you get

  • Voice first

The guest speaks. The assistant greets them, takes the order and reads it back before anything is placed.

  • Readable through a windscreen

The order board on the lane screen is drawn in large type, from the assistant's own basket, so what a driver sees is what will be made.

  • Wakes when a car speaks

Staff can press Start, or let the lane start by itself when someone speaks. Nothing is recorded or sent until a conversation starts.

  • Lands in the kitchen

The order reaches the till and the kitchen screen as a drive-through collection order, with payment at the window.

  • Set up as a device profile

A kiosk device set up with the Drive-through lane profile opens the lane screen instead of the front kiosk.

What it does

The drive-through lane is a screen and a voice for the speaker post. A car pulls up, the guest speaks, and the assistant greets them, takes the order from your own menu, reads it back and says where to drive. The order goes straight to your till and kitchen screen as a drive-through collection order.

How it works

  1. In the Manager, add a kiosk device and choose the Drive-through lane profile.
  2. The device opens the lane screen instead of the front kiosk. Staff press Start, or tap A car is here so the lane starts by itself when someone speaks.
  3. The guest speaks. The assistant takes the order, asks about sizes and options, and reads it back.
  4. The order board shows the basket in large type, so the guest can read it from the car.
  5. When the guest confirms, the order is placed and printed or shown in the kitchen. Payment is at the window.

Privacy and control

The wake-up is a level meter on the open microphone, on that device only. Nothing is recorded or sent until a conversation starts, and a listening light shows whenever the microphone is on. Staff can switch always listening for cars on or off, and the choice is remembered on that device. In the Manager you can turn the lane's voice ordering off and set a daily limit on voice minutes.

What to plan for

The lane needs a kiosk-type device placed where the microphone and speaker can reach the car, on a plan that includes the kiosk app. The assistant is only as good as your menu, so keep names clear and mark dishes you have run out of. Payment at the window and the hand-over of the food stay with your team.

What it replaces

It replaces a person on a headset at the speaker post, or a lane that only has a menu board. See AI voice ordering for the assistant itself and the self-order kiosk for the front counter.
