Customers and loyalty

Loyalty points guests understand

Guests earn points on every order and spend them at checkout. You set the rules and see every movement.

What you get

  • Earn on every order

Guests with an account earn points on their orders and spend them as a discount on a later order.

  • Your rules

Set the programme once, override it for a single location and add tiers for your best customers.

  • A clear history

Each customer has a points and wallet history, and an adjustment needs a reason, so staff cannot change a balance silently.

  • Spend with confirmation

You can ask diners to confirm with a passkey or password before an order spends their points.

  • Counted properly in your tax

Loyalty points count as a discount, and VAT is recalculated line by line after discounts.

What it does

A loyalty programme gives guests a reason to come back to you instead of a marketplace. In DineHarbor, a guest with an account earns points on their orders and can use them against a later order at checkout. Everything is stored per customer, so you always know what each guest has earned and spent.

How it works

  1. In the Manager, open Customers, then Loyalty, and set how points are earned and what they are worth.
  2. Add tiers if you want to reward your best customers.
  3. Guests earn points on their orders.
  4. At checkout a signed in guest chooses to use points, and the discount is applied.
  5. In Customers you can search a guest, see their points and wallet history and adjust a balance with a reason.

Control and trust

Each location can override the programme. A diner can be asked to confirm with a passkey or their password before an order spends points, wallet credit or a stamp reward, which protects against someone else using a signed in phone. The history records every movement.

Money and tax

Points that pay for part of an order are treated as a discount: the discount is spread across the lines it touches and VAT is recalculated for each line. The accountant should confirm the treatment for your business, and the wallet is treated as a payment.

What it replaces

It replaces a paper punch card with no record, or a third party loyalty app that owns the customer relationship. For a card guests can hold, see stamp cards and wallet.
