Key takeaways
- General builders like Squarespace make beautiful sites but are not built around menus, kitchen routing and table ordering, so ordering is usually a plug in.
- Squarespace lists plans from €14.40 to €82.80 a month on annual billing, with a 2% online store fee on Basic and 0% from Core.
- Restaurant specific tools bundle the site with ordering: Owner.com, Flipdish and DineHarbor each include a website.
- Whatever you choose, own your domain, Google Business Profile and customer list.
In short: a general site builder suits a restaurant that mainly wants a good looking site; a restaurant specific tool suits one that wants ordering, kitchen routing and a till behind it. Prices below come from each vendor's own page in October 2026.
Two kinds of tools
- General builders (Squarespace, Wix): flexible design, a store or plug in for orders.
- Restaurant tools (Owner.com, Flipdish, Square Online, DineHarbor): a site connected to a menu, ordering and the kitchen.

| Wix | Its restaurants page did not load: check the vendor's page | |
| Owner.com | $249 a month plus 5% or $499 a month, plus 5% guest fee (Owner.com) | Website, app, marketing; dollars |
| Flipdish | From €99 a month per site billed annually with POS and ordering (Flipdish) | Branded website included |

Squarespace
Squarespace's table shows four plans with transaction fees on its online store of 2% on Basic and none from Core. Card processing is separate, 2.0% plus €0.25 on standard rates and 3.0% plus €0.25 on premium cards. Prices are in euros, with two unlabelled prices per plan, so we used the lower annual looking figure. Automated tax calculation is an extra percentage. It suits a restaurant that wants a very polished brochure site, with a simple order link or store.
Owner.com, Flipdish and Square Online
These tools build the site as part of the ordering product. Owner.com includes a website, SEO pages and an app; Flipdish includes a branded website in its bundle; Square lets you take collection and delivery orders on your site with no monthly fee or commission. See our online ordering systems comparison.
DineHarbor
Every plan includes an ordering site on your own domain or a free name.dineharbor.com address, with the menu, collection, delivery, QR table ordering and no commission. It is built from your menu, so orders go to the kitchen screen. It is not a free form design tool like Squarespace, and has no delivery app connections.

What your website must do
- Show the menu as text, not only a PDF, so Google can read it.
- Show hours, address and phone on every page.
- Work on a phone at 360 pixels wide.
- Let people order within two taps.
- Show allergens where you can.
See our guide to restaurant websites with online ordering and Google Business Profile.
Choosing
- List what the site must do beyond looking nice.
- Price the site, the ordering and the card fees together.
- Build one page on each shortlisted tool and test it on a phone.
