Delete your account and data
Last updated: 7 October 2026
This page explains how to delete a DineHarbor account, for staff, restaurant owners, diners and couriers, what is erased, and what is kept and why. It applies to the website, to all six staff apps (POS, Kitchen, Waiter, Kiosk, Driver and Manager) and to every restaurant's own customer app. The staff apps sign in to an account made on the website, so deleting the account deletes what the apps used. A diner account made in a restaurant's customer app is the same account as on that restaurant's website, and is deleted the same way (see "Diners" below).
Restaurant staff and managers
Sign in to the back office, open Settings → Profile, choose Delete account and confirm with your password. It takes effect straight away.
Erased immediately
- Your name, email address, password, POS PIN, two-factor secrets and recovery codes, photo and bio.
- Your sessions and API tokens, so every device you were signed in on is signed out.
- Your sign-in history, password-change history, notifications, Copilot conversations, AI answer reports, feedback and support tickets.
- Your staff chat messages, photos, files, voice notes and reactions. Each message stays in its conversation only as "deleted", so replies to it still make sense.
- Your membership of every restaurant, and any courier profile linked to your account, including its location history.
- The audit-log entries about your account, which contain your old name and email.
Kept, without your name
Orders you took, payments you recorded, till shifts and the order history still show that an account did them, by an internal number that no longer leads to you. The restaurant needs those records for its accounts, and the order history is tamper-evident, so it cannot be edited.
One exception: tip payouts keep your name (not your email), because they are your employer's payroll record and payroll law requires the employer to keep it.
If you cannot sign in (for example, you only ever used a PIN on a terminal), ask the restaurant that employs you to remove you, or contact us through the contact page and we will verify who you are and erase the account.
Restaurant owners: closing a restaurant
An owner deletes their account the same way, in Settings → Profile. You must first remove other members or transfer ownership; the page will tell you if any are left. Deleting your account then:
- cancels the DineHarbor subscription at once;
- closes the restaurant and its storefront;
- starts a job that erases every diner account, removes names, phone numbers, email addresses, delivery addresses and notes from every order (including guest orders), removes contact details from bookings and the waitlist, hides reviews and removes their text, erases every courier profile with its location history and proofs of delivery, and removes device IP addresses, API and webhook logs, and Copilot conversations.
What stays is the restaurant's sales record: amounts, items, taxes, discounts, payments, till reports and times, with no personal details. Tax law requires a business to keep these (in the UK, for example, for six years).
Diners
Your account belongs to the restaurant's storefront where you created it. On that site, open Account → Security and choose Delete my account. Confirm with your password, or, if you signed up with a passkey or Google, by typing your email address.
- Erased: your name, email, phone number, password, social sign-in link, saved addresses, favourites, passkeys and notifications; your contact details and notes on bookings; your reviews are hidden and their text removed.
- Removed from your past orders: your name, phone, email, delivery address, coordinates and order notes, and the courier's proof-of-delivery details.
- Kept: the orders themselves (items, prices, taxes, payment status), and wallet and loyalty entries as amounts only, because the restaurant must keep its sales records. Any wallet balance or loyalty points are lost.
- If you have an order in progress or an upcoming booking, finish or cancel it first. We ask because a courier on the way needs the address.
Ordered as a guest, without an account? Ask the restaurant to remove your details; it controls them. If you cannot reach it, contact us with the restaurant's name and your order reference, and we will pass the request on and help.
Couriers
Your courier profile is created by the restaurant you deliver for. If it is linked to your own staff login, deleting that account (above) erases it. Otherwise ask the restaurant to delete it, or contact us. Either way your location points are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Devices
A POS, Kitchen, Waiter or Kiosk device is registered to the restaurant, not to a person. The restaurant removes it in the back office under Settings → Devices, which ends its access at once.
